Just from the upstate to the ACC ride. Not sure where @89s rule is located exactly but if I am able to find a ride for the tires then I can try to get with him. We will be attending and will bring them home from there.

@Teddy would a couple 6er's of your favorite brew buy them a ride? Do you know Matt?
Ok. Opposite way for me.

Looks like lots of rain moving in for the weekend. Should be nice and sloppy.

@jynx where you able to figure anything out about the tires? I'll be in town tomorrow until about 4 PM before I head back to the hills.

@Teddy I spoke to him today. Looking like it isn't gonna work out this trip. I appreciate the offer, but he and I will get togethere on them eventually. He has to work late tomorrow anyway.

Looking like we will be rolling the 80 up this trip if I can get the tags in time. Rain looks like the order of the weekend so I will stick to the bunny turned black diamond trails. 42-43? that runs around behind the campground should be doable as well as some of the other normally green trails.

Yeah. I've never been to Golden Mountain yet, but I'm hoping some of the green trails are driveable when wet. I've heard they get pretty nasty. Any first hand experience?

There is alot of red clay at GMP, so rain = snot, which in-an-of-itself can be bad enough, but that stuff gets on everything making it like driving on silicone spray.

There will still be some trails we can do. A lot of the "hard" trails are getting harder even when it's dry so I think those would be out anyway. The easy/medium trails will def be the way to go. I think we can probably do some of the stuff over by the dirt track too. The long hill climbs that are just dirt get pretty gnarly when it rains because of the aforementioned clay content in the soil.

It sounds like a lot of fun and i think i am going to miss this one. I am sitting in a hotel in Grand Junction CO. I cant really complain having just left Grand Canyon and Moab/Canyonland before that. Not to mention 6 months in Yellowstone before that. Maybe i will check out Ouray on the way home. ;)

Honestly my travels have been unbelievable but i really wish i could make this. I would like to get to know some of the local cruiser guys and simply relax a little. You guys better take some good pictures and post them up!

PS this talk of clay/mud is making me laugh. Canyonlands actually had some rain before i went in. Even after a good spray off to make the truck drivable the roof is pure "mud color". Picture a Fj cruser or FJ40 white roof but a green FJ80 with a clay color roof. That i what i am sporting! I spent too much time in the car wash trying to get lights and glass clean so i could see to worry about the roof. But hell, "moab clay" colored stuff sure reminds me of home back in Georgia.

Looking forward to some pics of that journey!

On a good note, the rain chance has significantly decreased for Saturday. So, it shouldn't be too bad. And if it doesn't rain too much on Friday some of the trails may actually be dry.

I am planning to load up tonight so I can roll out between 0400-0500 tomorrow. Hope to be there by 0900.

My only comms will be CB:bang:. I don't think you guys will pick me up from I40 to I75.

Bmac and I will be headed to DigDug's place and then we will be convoying up tomorrow morning.

See you all soon.

-o-

I finally get to meet the legendary Onur! :p

80 passed emissions this morning, tags after lunch so we will be pimpin' the 80 this trip. I was super impressed that even with a bad egr, ragged out 23 year old original CATs and exhaust she passed WELL below all limits... says alot about what the real value of all that Crap really is.

Erin will probably be up a little after lunch, so 1 or 2ish, I probably won't roll in til 3 or 4 myself. She will want a seat, so if someone has an opening that I can bum on her behalf I'd appreciate it.

See you guys tomorrow. Rain or shine it'll be good times.:bounce::bounce2:
