Gday legends. Recently replaced my drive belts on my FZJ80 with thankfully no issues. However, after about a week they felt a bit loose so I went to tune them. Alternator belt went fine, but i’m running into an issue with the A/C belt. Even after tightening the tensioner bolt as far as it would go and locking the lock bolt, the belt was still way too loose (below minimum reading on gates krikit gauge). Car still drives and I don’t hear that signature “loose belt whine”, but it definitely feels looser than it should be. Part number for the new a/c belt i’m using is 13A0925 which was advertised as correct for FZJ80. Anyone got advice to deal with this? Or did I just get the wrong belt and have to buy a new one?

Sure sounds like the belt is too long.
Are Toyota belts prohibitively expensive in Oz?? Here in the US they're usually cheaper than aftermarket and will always fit.
90916-02353 matched set for alternator
99332-60910 AC compressor

Yes, ridiculously expensive. last time i got them it was $60 for the 2 ALT/water pump belts and $50 for the AC belt

i just got the ALT/WPump ones as thats fair being 2 belts but the A/C one, at work they use a 910mm belt on some genset's so while no one was looking......... 3 of the 5 spares went walkies

Got it. So @fzj80enjoyer should have purchased a 13A0910 belt. The 13A0925 is 15mm too long.

13a0925 should tension up properly still, perhaps somethings amiss with the adjuster or the adjuster pulley was changed out with a slightly smaller diameter one resulting in not being able to tension up correctly?

the 910mm ones i got just mean the adjuster sits a little higher up but has worked fine for a number of years now
