A750F 5-speed auto tranny w/ paddle shifters in an 80? Yup.

BTW, do we have anyone on the forum with a 96-97 80 with access to a data logger who is willing to collect VSS, S1, S2, SL, TPS, CPS, and AFM data under different driving conditions?

On a tangent: I noticed you guys looked at the ECU-swap angle on the H151 thread. This would help with an A343F -> A442F conversion. Does anyone know if there exists a non-US, integrated (tranny/engine) ECU for the 95-97 80 series with A442F, EGR, and OBD2 compatible with US standards?

The A434F replaced the A442F in 1995, the same year that the transmission ECU and engine ECU were integrated into a single unit and that OBD-II came out. So I really doubt you are going to find an ECU that supports the older A442F but also has OBD-II.

Tom- in other countries (like AU), the A442F continued to be used for several years 1995 onward, even in the early 100 series. And it switched to an integrated ECU in 1995 w/ the A442F in those countries. So I'm really just wondering if any of those countries used EGR and a compatible OBD-II on the 80 series petrol auto trans.

My 96 JDM half cut did not have an integrated ECU/TCU or egr.

Thanks for the info, Nathan! This is interesting because toyodiy shows no separate trans computer for 1996 JDM 80 series petrol auto. See this link. Do you have the part # off your main ECU or transmission ECU?

It also shows the 96 JDM 80 series petrol auto as having EGR.

Shoot, I didn't mention it in my post. My halfcut was from a HDJ. Sorry, my sig line only makes a hint of what I'm running. I was following the first thread about about putting the 750 in the 80s and forgot about it until I saw this thread.

Update: According to toyodiy, I'm seeing on 1997 80 series auto trans (VX):

Australia-
O2 sensors- no
EGR- no

Japan-
O2 sensors- yes, but only 1 sensor
EGR- yes

So I don't think either ECU would work for those that need to pass emissions with OBD2. Any comments?
