This is great. Just ordered all the stuff.

@Ophir what do you attach the cable to at the linkage? Is it pretty self explanatory? Any pics of that?

Hey Joe,

Above the accelerator pedal is a bracket that has a square hole at the top. This is lined up with the plugged hole on the dashboard. Remove the plug, unbolt one
nut and remove both the nut and the lock washer. Insert the manual throttle into the dash hole and lead the cable so that it goes through the hole in the accelerator bracket. Put a cable stop on either end of the bracket and you are good to go!

This is the greatest mod ever.

Ever since I broke my ankle last year I’ve dreaded driving my truck anywhere for more than an hour. Fatigue sets into my ankle and it’s hard to stay in one position for long. This thing totally saved me that agony.

It took all of 15 minutes to install and it works great. It looks a tad bit big and wonky but the functionality is perfect in your hand.

You don’t need to buy both packages of cable stops. I used 03339 and it seams to work perfect.

I took it for a test drive last night and it’s perfect. You can pull it in even “click” intervals or turn it for the perfect amount of throttle. The big red release button is great too in case you get jammed up. That alone makes it superior over a stock one or the Toro mower mod version.

This belongs in best mods for under $50. Although I think it was like $54 bucks.

Thank you @Ophir for finding this awesome device.

Thanks @joebattle1 ! Glad to contribute something useful after enjoying so much goodness here. :)

I went in a deep dive this evening after the discovery of the hand throttle!! So I’m digging up this old thread. I like both the @Ophir and the Toro hacks. I am curious about the 80 linkage for my 60. Why won’t it work? Is it too long/short? Is the connection too different? Thanks!
