This is the question...

I have a set of solid axles off a 84 P/U.

Now I would like to minimize the amount of down time. So I am thinking of my build up.. This is what I am thinking.

F injected, chevy NV4500, (dana 300 or yota pu T case.. Both at 4:1 ) to...

those axles. Now I would of corse truss the axles and 30 spline Longfields and E-lockers.. cryo'd yukons 5.29 RUnning 36 inch Iroks.. MAYBE 37.. not sure..

ARE the Axles going to last?????

If no why?

it would be much easier to convert your landcruiser front axle to discs than outboarding for the mini front and trussing and all that noise. oh and spec on cruiser? ? is it a cruiser? guessing it is since you said F and F makes me think pre 74

should be fine with said setup rear carrier or rear shaft will be weak link, and maybe a knuckle

Check the CM05 thread on Pirate. dieselcruiserhead CRUSHED the mini rear housing under his pig. The spring saddle literally went THRU the housing!

no... mini diff centers are weak

and cv's and inner axles... because their the same as late disk setups

No, not going to last without serious weight loss. Those axles were designed to carry mini truck weight, under 3K Lbs, IIRC

Go with FJ60 axles if you want to keep the same width as the minis but still have that extra strength.

Forgot to mention, there are at least two people in my club the Cascade Cruisers that run mini front ends and have no problem... Ed is even running 39.5's with a ram jet 350, turbo 350, and dual cases.

He stated 30 spline longs, those will be the strongest links in his axles

try reading it in post order...

mini axles are good for one thing by what i understand in mud's infinite wisdom...the front knucles :D

i thought that "infinte wisdom" applied to ALL uses, not just those of us using 30 spline longs

therefore
