Thanks for all the compliments.
Well I made the 400 mile drive today down to Elmira NY. When I left at 6:00 am we had 4 inches of snow and the plows had not been out yet. My driveway slopes down to the street and enters about 30 ft from the bottom of a hill. So last storm with my BFG ATs I slide diagonally accross the road as I tried to turn and throttle up the hill. Not this time, truck handled it easily. Panic braking in the white stuff seems better for both control and distance. However there is a noticeable high pitched vibration at 60 mph. It comes in at about 55 and lasts until 65. This has lessened quite abit since the 400 mile trip. This might just be something that needs to be driven out. So far I'm very pleased with them as my primary need was for the white stuff. Dry road handling seems to be on par with the BFGs.
Tyler,
When I put the spacers in I detached the shocks and swaybar, after placing the truck on jack stands I took off both front wheels. The axle then dropped enough to take the springs out without a compression tool. If you have the 2" drop blocks on the sway bar you probably don't have to take that apart. I cleaned the spring seat completely and lubed up the spacer with dish detergent. This allows the spacer to slip into the proper position. Otherwise it can hang up and self destruct from the trucks motion. This is sorta temperary as once I get the rest of the mods on I'll need to re-spring the front end for the added weight.
Dan,
I'm sure those caps are nice but are they neccessary?
