Im having some pretty crazy pressure buildup in my fuel return line. The rubber fuel line that goes from next to cylinder 1 on passenger side to the hard line on the frame was spraying fuel at the lower connection. I put on a better clamp and it ended up blowing a hole in the fuel line.

I sprayed compressed air through the hard line that runs along the frame and it’s unrestricted. I blew air through the return line that hooks to the fuel pump hanger assembly with the tank cap off and heard bubbling in the tank. I cleaned out and did the same with the evaporator canister lines that go back to the tank and evap stuff in the rear quarter panel. All clear and air flows through. After blowing out the lines and hooking everything back up it blew out the fuel line again and wouldn’t start.

After the cleaning I’m getting code 14 and it will crank with no start. Which is an igniter thing as far as I know? What are the chances the igniter pooped put in that couple hours I was blowing hard lines out?

Did the test from fsm on the charcoal canister and it’s flowing properly.

Mind you there is no whoosh from the tank when I open the cap like on my donor rig when it was running and driving.

I’m worried I crimped the return line that runs on the top of the fuel tank when I installed fuel tank. Like I said I can hear it bubble when I blow compressed air through it but I would think it would bubble a little more violently.

Could this be a FPR issue? Letting too much fuel out the rail and causing a lot of pressure.

I’m kinda at a loss as to why there is so much pressure in the return line.

Bit of a ramble but I’m getting a little frustrated at this point. 😤

If you route the rubber return line at the tank into a bucket does the issue persist? That will indicate if there’s an issue in the tank return tube. You’ll have to jumper the +B and FP in the check connector on the firewall and turn the key to get the pump pressurized since you can’t start it.

Are you sure the code is 14?

Thanks I will try that tomorrow. I could double check but I’m pretty sure

you could re-route the return to one of the vent tubes on the side of the tank as a temporary fix/test. Same size tubing/hose (1/4”)

Yup this fixed it. Thanks for the suggestion. I must’ve kinked the return line putting the tank in 🤬 . There is a gas stain around the lines that come out of the tank.
