DEF = Diesel Exhaust Fluid. 67.5% water, 32.5% Urea. Used in modern diesel combustion to reduce Nitrogen-oxide emissions.
I'm not a chemist but isn't Urea mostly Ammonia (NH3)? Does it help the N02 emissions bind to the water in combustion somehow? Fascinating..
