a/c pump swap

Will the a/c compressor from any other vehicle
replace the unit on a 88 4 runner with a 22re engine?I have looked at some imports that look close but have the wrong mounting. Thank you Georgeharry

Odds are the same unit was used on other vehicles.... My thought is call a dealer and see if they will look up the number, then see if they can cross reference it to what other Toyotas it may have been used in.... I don't know how you might go about finding other makes it was used in though...
