I have an 05 LX470 with no master key. 3 local locksmiths have not been able to get a key to work! Will your ECU eprom fix my issue? I'm willing to pay for the part and shipping.
Unfortunately, I don't have Techstream. Thanks for the offer to show me how to do it as well. I'm in Las Colinas TX.
I received mine over the weekend, but I've been out of town. Have a pair of pre-cut keys on the way from 1010 keys. Once everything is in hand, I'll do the swap and report back.Have any of you received your eeproms yet? Anybody installed one?
I've got another ebay ecu coming next week. May try a swap thing for people who aren't comfortable with changing out chips
If anybody gets a chance to look at their ecu in model years 99-2002 please post part number of ecu.
Cracked open ECU but didn't install the chip yet. The layout of the board on my MY2000 is different than the video and so is the location of the IC900 chip.If anybody gets a chance to look at their ecu in model years 99-2002 please post part number of ecu.
Yup. Just in a different spot.Is it a 93c56 eeprom? Should be. I can't zoom in enough on my phone to read it.
I finally had the time and the right tools to install my chip from @Mauser . I picked up one of these 862D+ rework stations off Amazon, a flux pen, some solder wicking braid and some solder. I went a little further than the videos above, though. After removing the original chip, I cleaned all of the pads, applied some flux and tinned the chip. Install was easy and the programming was exactly as shown in the video. I'm so glad to finally have more than one key, be able to use my remotes and EDC the Yota MD titanium key instead of the valet key.
Big thanks to Mauser for doing all the research and making these available. Desoldering and soldering components onto your cruiser's ECU is scary but not difficult. Took about 20 minutes total with no practice and all the extras. Very happy with the results.
I'm doing this for free. I've got 75 of these that I am wanting to give out. I can get more, it takes right at a month for me to get them. I will keep giving them out until I get sick of it or somebody messes it up. These cost me right around 75 cents shipped.
@Mauser I can’t believe I’m just seeing this. Are you still offering these chips? I only have a metal key that unlocks the doors, but I lost the transponder keys. It’s been sitting for a long while cause I didn’t want to fork over for a new Ecu and keys.
If your ecu is part number 89661-60610 I can trade you a virginized ecu for yours, or since it isnt a daily driver you could send me your ecu and I can virginize it and send it back. You just pay for shipping.
