Looks good!
I'm not sure if you already have the frame holes drilled or not but it looks like the bumper needs to slide back, there are 2 factory frame holes and the bumper is not designed to mount with those. The bumper bracket should mount right up against the body mount weld. The factory holes will work but you will get a tighter and stronger fit I you drill new ones all together.
Let me know if you have any questions

I think that a matte black or a slightly glossy black would go well with the color scheme, in my humble opinion.

@benc Ya, I was thinking that the bumper was sticking out a bit far. I might have to give you a call because I was looking at how my friend mounted it and didn't see a way to push it back. I'll have to re-drill those mounting holes. My friend used the pre-existing holes when mounting the center part.

Feel free to give me a call, if you don't have my number pm me.

Would you want to paint it prior to assembly and installation so that you can cover all of the surfaces? Un coated surfaces will rust even if they aren't visibly exposed if moisture can get in there.

I think it would be nice to use a different color than the body for contrast. A semi gloss will clean up easier but a matte will show less surface imperfections.

@benc After your comment, I looked at how it was mounted and saw that I could drill the frame further back and then slide the whole thing back. Would that be correct to get it to sit back properly?

@Trist @Odyseuss Ya, I think I agree with you guys. I think I'm going to go with a matte black.

Yes that is correct, remove the two thought bolts, loosen the bottom bolts and slide it around to where it best aigns with the body. Then Mark and drill the holes. You will also want to weld the alignment tabs to help with rust.

Went shooting with a friend on Sunday. The weather couldn't have been better out in the desert.

Matte black gets my vote. I'm jealous of all the cool places California has to go. Texas is so huge that we have to drive 4+ hours to go anywhere.

Great build!

And we Californians are jealous of your gun laws, or lack thereof. =)

So I finally found time to get my bumper installed on the truck. Driving around with no front bumper for 3 weeks gets old. I decided to go with a slight crinkle black. My dad helped me relocate the control pack for my Warn 10-S Zeon winch. We found a good spot for it in front of the airbox and behind the passenger side headlight. Working on it all day, we finally was able to get it shimmed just right so it was level on both sides as well as get lights wired, etc... The whole install took a lot longer than I thought but I'm pretty stoked on how it all turned out. I'm not sure if I'm going to leave those cheap LED lights on top of the bumper. I just put them on there to see if they help any when using my fog lamps.

Looks good!
It's hard to tell on my phone but looks like there is a decent size gap between the caps and top plate? you may be able to use a rubber mallet to bend the top plate down, you may also be able to loosen the cap bolts and push the cap up a bit.

@benc You're right. I'll try bending down those top plates down. I can't push the caps anymore though. The passenger side cap was so tight we had to use a crowbar and mallet/hammer to get it on.

The stock mud flaps on my rig have been bugging me for awhile. I just haven't had time to do anything about them. So after seeing a handful of you guys replacing their mud flaps with homemade plastic or steel plate, I decided to cut mine.

So I unbolted them from my truck. Then I masked off a cut line. I then used my Dremel tool with a small cutoff wheel. Once all the excess was cut off, I used a razor blade to clean up the edges. I remounted the flaps and noticed that the bottom corner was a little longer than the bodywork. So I used the razor blade again to cut it to match. Definitely a (1) job and took maybe 15-20 minutes.

Thanks for taking the time to post all these pics with your comments/thoughts. Great build. If you have a second, I'm interested to hear your opinion on the Fox 2.0's with the OME springs and torsion bars. I'm looking at this exact setup and would like to hear someone's personal experience. Thanks.

@MGarland You're welcome. I like the setup that I'm currently running. The front end got a little better once I put on the front bumper. Without that extra weight the aftermarket OEM torsion bars were a little stiff. Not bad but it was a little stiff. The truck sits a little high in the rear because of the OME springs but once I get a new rear bumper, it should sit the way I want it to.

The Fox 2.0s are nice. They seem a little smoother than stock. I did have to have them warrantied in a year though. One of the rear shocks was leaking which was kinda disappointing to see but I contacted them and they warrantied them right away. I'm lucky though. Fox shocks HQ is located in my city.

Good info. Thanks.
