I recently replaced my front springs and shocks and keep hearing a strange BOING noise coming from the front end. It sounds like a metal spring being plucked. I've read thru some threads, some suggest an ABS sensor wire or something hitting the brake dust shield. I've checked and that doesn't seem to be the issue.

While under the truck today I noticed the Radiator pipe No7 16577-66010 looks bent on the underside. Could the dent on the pipe be from the lateral rod? or does the pipe come bent from the factory to avoid hitting the lateral rod?

If memory serves, mine has the same "factory" dent.

^^^This^^^, same indentation.

thanks to both of you. I guess that's not the culprit.

If you hear a "boing" in a spring, odds are, it is the spring shifting in its mount. It could be that it was not properly set during the install or a rubber isolator has a hole worn in it, or the change in geometry has changed how the body and frame flex together and cause it to flex and makes a bushing somewhere else release, and that causes the noise in the spring as it suddenly flexes. Maybe the trailing arm bushings since they are riding in different places now? Or sway bar bushings?

I took the spring out and "re-set" it a day or so after the original installation so I'm fairly certain that isn't the issue. I'm not sure how else the spring could possibly fit in there.

Soon after the new shocks and springs I put in all new OEM bushings (Upper/Lower Control arms, both panhards and Sway Bars) along with all new hardware. Everything tightened to spec with all 4 wheels on the ground (loaded), making sure to tighten the proper Nut/Bolt not to let the serrations twist into the frame....

I tightened my OME steering damper and for the time being the Boing noise has subsided. Tolerances are tight on that thing, it barely clears the bracket and frame

That's good to know! I have a friend that put an OME lift on his and he is having an occasional banging - spring shifting type noise that he's having a hard time isolating. I'll pass along the suggestion.
