Will 96 axles bolt right under a 91? I'm talking co!plete axles and not just immer shafts... Brakes the same?

I know this is covered somewhere but I have a poor connection and things are slooooow

Physically, they bolt up fine, plus you get a FF rear.

If they are e-lockers, you're going to be running your own wire for the whole setup - not a fan for this.

If standard K292 or modded 3rds with any other aftermarket diff/gears, it's a way better / simpler setup IMO.

Like stated, you'll really prefer 16" wheels (if factory make sure you get a matched set of 4-5 with either shank or acorn lug seats in the wheels, make life easier), to clear the calipers since upsized rotors / caliper on FR axle.

The good news is I have all the parts... Wheels etc.. I have a 96 junker with lockers.... Those axles are going into my unlocked 97.... My 97 axles will end up under the 91 which has clicking birfs and a whine in the rear.

Will the 91 front rotors and calipers will swap over to the later axles? I ask because the 91 has brand new brakes where the 96 has a bad caliper and rotors are smoked....

Really trying to source all my parts before I get to tearing apart all 3 rigs at once

91 has only one brake feed to the front axle, 97 has two feeds do to ABS. So along with changing the calipers you will need to change out the brake line also.

You say you tearing into 3 rigs will you have another set of front brake line off a 91 (single feed) axle available when done?
