95fzj80 with ARB VS Dodge Intrepid ACCIDENT

What ever you do, do not pull into oncoming traffic when there is a Toyota Landcruiser with an ARB bumper coming at you. A girl did just that today and I could not stop in time. The roads were wet and I was traveling about 30mph and slid right into and over her car. You can see the impression of my bumper in her taco'd hood which is now in the middle of her car. Her car is totalled but the landcruiser has just a few scratches, bent steering arm and blown A/C dryer. It actually felt no worse then a big speed bump. Everyone is ok!

I wish her car was a bit taller so the Cruiser didnt go over her engine. The steering rod is bent and there is paint and metal on the axle and steering stabilizer.

Served her right for driving stupid.

Probably looks good with a little red on it.

Glad to hear no one was hurt.

Putting the old girl on the lift in the morning, I will take some pics and give a write up of whats broken/bent down there.

You know a camry drier or Slee's relocator would have taken care of that drier issue before it happened :flipoff2:

Or for the lazy (like me) the Slee ARB AC dryer skid plate. ~$80 + 15 minutes of my time = no more worries. I almost took mine out last year at Flat Nasty. Woulda cost a bit more than $80.

 Wow....glad everyone was ok. Not to make light of the situation, but Spaid 7 has been Spaided ...

When you say steering arm, do you mean the pitman arm or the tie rod end or the drag link? I am glad every one's OK. That ought to teach her a lesson but I am sure she will do it again.

The drag link to be exact, its bowed in a few inches which put my steering wheel upside down when going straight. Something else must be wrong because it pulls to the left now a hair.

Your question mark is probably from her last accident (Spaid 6).

Seriously though, glad everyone came out okay.

i need a bumper bad, especially since my wife drives the 80 most of the time. yes, i did just hint that women are poor drivers.

I would check the axle housing. In the type of collision you had they bend very easily. Was the wheel pushed (turned) over all the way. Check the back steering stop on the housing. If the steering stop is bent in by the bolt, I can tell you that you have a very good chance of having a bent housing. Seen that a lot in wrecked trucks we buy. The wheel acts as a lever and bends the housing right where the knuckle ball connects to the housing.

Also check your sector shaft for twisting.
