Hey guys, i found a guy who has a 94 toyota truck, 4 cylinder, 5 speed, 4x4 for sale with 180,000 miles, engine just rebuilt with all new pistons, timing chain, and engine was machined. He said he had it rebuilt because the timing chain jumped. He said no known problems, and the mechanicals are solid. It's green with some fading and sunburn on roof, he said it could use a paint job. He's asking $3000. Watcha say guys.

I'd jump on it! thats what I paid for mine. It had new paint with 216,000 on the clock. still running strong! Did you mention if it was ext cab or reg cab?

Man that is a nice truck! I forgot to mention that it is one owner, no rust at all, body is straight, and it has a 3 inch body lift with 33x12.5 tires.

let me try and explain, (cruising through CL)

My 1st truck was a Ni...an total POS my young and naive dumb self actually thought as the power in the motors was the same how different could the trucks be? My 2nd was/ is a 91 RC, 4x4 5sp.

I love that truck like ol'yeller, remembering it brings a tear to my eye.

If I win the lottery tomorrow I would not hesitate dropping 275K in it (its wrecked, diamond and fender dmg) to get it back to 100% of its former glory...

If you think I'm joking my old sig line used to say "will not take 100k for it"

What I speak is the truth however no comment on 100 and $1.00....though, seriously I would not take 100K for it. IMO its not really "Are those trucks worth the money?" to me its more like "Do I have the money?"
Making offers today is not like it used to be w/ me more now I am afraid to offer less as I feel it will kill the deal altogether. I hate negotiating though.

You only wish you had something in your life as dependable as this truck!

I've never had anything in my life that I could count on and be as dependable as that truck!

Everyday I went out to it I knew it would go as far as I had the gas to put in it.

Sherman tank and super simple 4WD system.

Lets put it this way I have a 94' 4x4 regular cab pickup with tranny problems, 245,000 miles and some rust, and I'm not sure I'd sell it for that low.

What did he do to the paint? Mine is the same age and has always been outside and the paint is fine except where I scratched it. Wash and wax it, ha! This was a work truck and daily driver. If it got washed, it was the free car washes that some filling stations gave you with a fill up.
