In troubleshooting high CO, I looked at the IAC and it tested out of scope between S1 and S3 (41Ω) so I ordered a new one from Amazon. Spendy little part!
Anyway, new one just arrived (without an o-ring ) and figured I would test it too... Well it is showing 39Ω between S1 and S3 which is still out of spec.
The other terminals are in spec (on the original one too). Has anyone else tested theirs recently that can chime in?
I have noticed several typo's in the 1993 digital FSM that is posted here, but mainly they are the decimal in the wrong place. Page EG-295 says that between S1 and S3 the resistance should be between 10 and 30Ω (which is where I am seeing the out of spec-ness). I know it is Autozone, but their test procedure is only between B1 and S1/S3, which tests good.

Found this thread and it does not mention the S1 to S3 test. It is for a 95 though...

The IAC for the most part controls RPM at idle. As long as the engine runs at correct RPM consistantly when engine is hot the IAC will have no relationship to your high HC readings.
