92 22re "skips" in high gears-- **Found the Problem! See pics.

92 truck, 198K miles, idles fine. When I get on the highway and step on the gas or when going uphill the engine seems to skip? I notice this mainly in 3rd-5th gears. Also, this morning was pretty cold and ran fine for about the first 10 miles. I really don't notice any power loss when it does this... any thoughts?

Thanks in advance,
Meatloaf

IF it is clutch, it should slip in hard accleration all the time i.e. starting from stop as well.

Please define "skip". A slipping clutch will cause the engine to surge not skip but maybe that is what you mean.

Watch the tach and see if the "skip" is associated with an increase in RPM. IF so, then certainly clutch.

iT is not the clutch as indicated above, it does not slip. If feels like a loose or shorting spark plug wire but they all seem ok. I was thingking the fuel filter but why would this problem not show up when the truck is cold?
