I already tried searching but didn't find anything.

Do I need a new pinion flange? (Oh dear god say no)

Or can I just take the yoke off the RTE Turbo and put it on the end of the 4cyl drive shaft?

This is the 1st time I've ever done anything even close to the drive train...

So sorry...

And I've come to find the joints are way easier to take apart than anyone I've ever asked how they even come apart... Every body's always told me they were pressed in, and NO Body's said there was a C clip on the back.

I've been out there doing it, I just hope Toyota dint change the size of something on me. And I hope to god I don't have to change the flange...

I'll know tomorrow if the yoke will fit...

I just re-drilled mine. The toyota flange centers itself so you really can't mess it up. If you do, you can just buy triple drilled replacements so I say go for it.

yeah, it's real funny....

Been less than 20 degree's the past few days and I didn't feel like beating and breaking stuff... I'm working outside...

I got REAL lucky on the flange deal.

The slip yolk off the Turbo SWB fit right on the end of the 2 piece drive shaft I'm working on... And matched the Turbo/V6 diff flange.

Too bad I figured that out about an hour after trying to beat the caps out of a joint... :bang:

And a Tacoma axle (V6? Has 4:88's?) I had, had the small flange on it just like the 84... go figure...

Yeah, I looked in my Downey book... Then started to have a panic attack b/c in all my years of reading Toyota stuff, I've never ran accross anything saying there are different flanges.

I can't re-flange an axle right now... and I would mess it up b/c to do it IIR, you need a crush sleeve and new seal... not an easy deal for me right now.

It does sound stupid to ask but I figured IF the U-Joint sizes/ yoke are different I'd save myself the trouble, and a thread might help someone else in my position.

I can find it later tonight when I get home....

You don't need a new crush sleeve, just to make sure that the turning torque is within spec.....and not crush it too much.

I've never pulled apart my differential or replaced the crush sleeve when replacing the pinion seal.

If you ever have to switch teh flangs it is really easy, just take the one nut off and pull it out, it's a 30mm nut and checker rents any socket or tool for free with a refundable deposite, i had to switch flages when i changed my third in my 1991b runner it was a breeze

Found this, wasn't exactly what I thought it covered.....
