A new toy to fix... So far i've found one broken gear, a broken snap ring, and a couple of sheared of bolts on the solenoids. Anyone got spare parts kicking around?

you can still order all the parts for it from Lordco ...

i fixed up one of the 8274 i have and i took the motor to Brian's electric in town.. they rebuilt it for like $70 if i remember correctly.. painted it too for me...
but was talking to the guy and he said that he can get replacement motors for them

but i did get the new seals from lordco and a clutch release also... not to bad on price... dont know what account you use with them but i have had luck with the black flag account..:D or some drag racing account :hillbilly:

It looks like all the motor needs is a brush.

The clutch shaft is rusted up... No surprise.

Lordco says the gear is no longer available for the keyed shaft... BRAE figures they may have a solution.

thats weird... it should still be available because they are still making the 8274-50 which all parts are identical....

do you have a parts number list...?? i have on at the shop...

This is a somewhat earlier 8274... I've read on a number of sources that I must upgrade to the newer splined armature. This armature uses a single key.

The guy at BRAE was also surprised, and suggested bring it in. I'm considering running it as is, or at least getting everything else working before laying out cash. I know that for $250 I can get a newer motor from Lordco, although I don't know what else may be required to make it work.

Right now I don't have anything into it :hillbilly:, so I don't have much to loose.

And no, I haven't got a parts list.

is the $250 with an account...

Brians electric if i remember correctly was just under $200 for a motor..

if you email warn the serial code you can find out the month and year it was made..

i emailed them and both the 8274 i have are early 90"s

only if your interested in finding out how old it is

part#15879 for splined gear
9054 for keyed gear
that pic looks splined to me and i am assuming that is the gear for the shifter?

9054 it is then... It is the keyed one.

To be technical, $242.80 plus tax with the net 30 account I use. :D

I haven't talked to any one yet...;)

I've seen them for $67 on eBay... Plus $95 shipping to Canada.

Does that replace the solenoid pack? That's what I'm guessing, but the description is somewhat lacking.

Do you mean Albrigth Lighting?

Too Tall-- what does that contactor do or replace?
If it replaces the 4 solinoids i am all over it.

Let me know if you go that way... I'd like to get this winch working before investing money in it.
