82 Heater rebuild question (1 Viewer)

Not geting much feedback over in the 40 section so figured id ask here. Im rebuilding my heater box in my 82 and am not sure about the foam on the main flapper door. Everything i read says both sides get foam but mine only has foam on 1 side and these strips shown.

It just disintegrates over time. Looks like your heater core is in need of a vacuuming?

It looks like yours only had strips on each side. I don’t see any reason to cover the whole side.

I didn’t answer on the other forum because I’ve not opened mine YET

Yah the stuff on front is toast that's for sure . The back strips are in good shape. Just never seen them like that before. Really hard finding pics online.

Yes 100% it's like fine styrofoam now it blows on when I switch to vent haha.
