Any guess on what the material costs would be? Thanks, John.

good question...havent' made any in a bunch of years now ( no 40 for a while...and I fear I'm about to go to the pimp daddy side of the farce....:grinpimp: ...possibly more on that tomorrow..:bounce:)

Plus back when I made them my materials were..'ahem'...subsidized?

( boat yard...)

at a guess I'd say 150 ish a set maybe? maybe a bit more, maybe less all depends on what you use. Contractor grade deck resin works fine, and it's pretty cheap. it's the matt and roving that get you. I still have a bag of roving kicking around.

They arent super cheap, but thing is, you can build up the edges and areas to be a lot stronger than the steel ones, and they're easy to patch if you ever f them up.

and you can skip the inners too if you want, I did with the green ones, and just zapped in some rubber matt to keep the muck out of the engine bay.

I still have a couple pics of em. whites are standard, the green are 2" narrower, and 2" shorter so they can be moved up closer to the hood.

(green pic is ooooold...that's the original Crackwhore...before I turned it into a BJ45...)

I'm thinking I'll go that route. It means saying goodbye to the flat-fenders but I like the look of those. Do you recall the size ot the tires on the green one?

Are the white ones gelcoat or painted? :hhmm:

I've almost got my 40 back on the road, and am hoping to go out wheeling with you guys one of these days. We can work out the details then.

How big are the molds? Would they fit in the back of a 40 or are they larger than that?

pretty big, size of a set of fenders plus a bunch of boxing...

white ones are gelcoat, on the green one those were 33's. Hankooks I think? so not the biggest. spring under, with 60 series rears up front...Think I cut about 1.25" out of the aprons or so?
was room for 35's there tho.
I still have the green ones out in the shed with the trimmed side aprons, if you want to skip the whole stinky process of building a set...;)

Any other pictures of the green ones?
