Bought it just 3 days ago to replace our '83 HJ60, just 2 days before we flew to the Netherlands (we live in Suriname). In about two months we fly back to South America to start a very long overlander trip through South America.

1. 1997 Lexus LX450, originally from Nashville, bought in Suriname, South America.
2. Wim
3. Rig has no name yet.
4. Just 63000 miles.
5. Totally original. Mods will come later. >>> 4" heavy duty TJM lift and Procomp shocks, Proline steel bumpers, Proline roof rack, RTT, 33"MT's
6. Will be used for overlanding through South America. >>> See: LosersinaLexus.nl

Might as well check in...

  1. 1993 FJ80 (FZ-FE)

  3. Daughters call him "Bubba." It's biggest vehicle we've owned; I moved over from the Bimmer scene when we moved to the foothills.
  4. 128k when bought from local original owner. Decent maintenance records including original window sticker! Has 144k as it sits today.
  5. Limited mods: tastefully applied surface rust and creative curvature applied to running board on a forest service road trip. Considering mild lift and possibly adding sliders/skid plates; spare tire lift.
  6. It's my DD. Also, forest service roads, remote trails, highway trips back to OKC, schlepping daughters, schlepping bikes, pulling lesser vehicles from snow banks and ditches.

Lane your ride is sweet, I have been watching it for a bit but it was really cool to see your build sheet. I noticed you really liked your rear lights. What are they and can u post a picture?

Thanks, Wil

1. 97 FJ 40th edition. I bought it because I rented one in Costa Rica a few years back (Prada). We did 1k highway and about 500 offroad, it suited both in style. Came home and found out it was $65k new and started researching what older model I really wanted. Picked the 97 as the last year b4 IFS and a couple other reasons. The 40th edition was a bonus I has not shopping for
2. Will
3. Eli
4. 125k
5. So I have only had it a few months and am not clear in my own mind how far to take it. We already have a pretty extreme TJ
- Added center lock, had factory front and rear
- Thule racks
- Midland CB
- BFG Mud and Snow, standard rims and size
- Cup holder
- Few repairs to make it right, windshield washer valve, Steering bearing, normal little crap
6. so main use is expedition, mainly snow sports. Fit's Wife/Friends/Dogs/Gear. Not sure why I see a lot of posts about no roof racks, I have it covered to the hilt for Skis, Paddle Boards, Extra Storage.

nice choice of an 80

1997 FZJ80 Collectors edition

Coche

Kid/puppies/Camping

I like the grey strip look of the CE's. Great Choice

I'm a fan of the roof rack, too. Best place to store the bike in transit, plus skis to keep the snow and wet out of the back.

My '91

Hey guys - I'm a self confessed Noob when it comes to cars and now Cruisers. I've lurked for a while and decided to go ahead and join. I've been reading and watching Cruisers for a while and just got my first. So here it goes:

Year and model: 1991 FJ80 - 2-tone Metallic Beige with Sable interior

My Name: Derek

Name of rig: StrongTank (thanks to my 6 yr old daughter - though we are working on a better name :) )

Mileage: 195k

Mods:
I just bought it Labor Day weekend. It's had a few owners before me, and I know the guy ahead of me hated to let go. The only thing I have identified thus far are the front and rear brush guards and the U-haul branded hitch. It does also have a Viper alarm, though I'm pretty sure it is not rigged correctly, as it had the radio stolen while in the last owner's possession.

A/V:
As soon as I get it back from having the exhaust fixed, I'll be putting in a Pioneer AVH-X2500BT with a the Pyle PLCM18BC rear view cam.

How the truck is used: Semi-Daily driver - My fiance and I often car pool, and I have an older Explorer that has been my DD for a few years.
