I'd like to add one more comment about the Scout height. By leaving some usable space above the top lid, the key can stay in the lock box WHILE the console is closed. One practice I use when I leave home is to put my valuables (sometimes a firearm) in the lockbox, lock the key, and close the console. But the key stays in the cylinder! Should I need to quickly access anything while on the road, I'm not fumbling with trying to put a key in a lock cylinder under stress.
If I arrive at my destination and want to keep my valuables locked up in the truck, I simply open the console, remove the key, and attach the key to my car key chain with the blue carabiner you see in the pics. Very discreet.
