80 Series Gold Package

Interesting to hear of a Collectors Edition with the Gold Package since only the CEs got the black pearl emblems...of which yours were swapped to gold.

Any chance you have the "original" CE emblems laying around?

The original CE emblems are still on the cruiser with the exception of the antenna nut and front sombrero badge.

Sorry, I was meaning the black pearl sombreros and badging. So the rear sombrero is black pearl and the front is gold? Sounds interesting!

There were never black pearl emblems. It was originally sold with the gold emblems installed. I have seen people successfully paint the chrome ones to look black pearl with rattle cans, I was looking into this since I did not like the gold.

1996 Gold Emblem Kit. NLA part number 00577-60950. It was a port installed option for $599. Unsure if the rear Toyota emblem fits a 97, as its in the center of hatch vs the left on a 96. I have a couple kits sitting on a shelf in my office.

Old post ressurected by @Toy Ota , but there were definitely black pearl emblems available from Toyota. One of my former cruisers (1996 MY) came with gold emblems from new, but I wasn't a fan and replaced them with factory black pearl parts. I think bought it all from CDan way back in the day (around 18 years ago?). People were creating their own black pearl like emblems with model spray paint too, but mine were definitely Toyota parts from the dealer.

my 96 has the gold package but has faded as well. The Gold is put on with an Electric charge and then it plates to the emblem. I will take a pic at my shop today of my emblems and the gold kit to make them look new again.

I have a new set (Toyota "T" grill emblem, back door "T" emblem, 4WD badge, and antenna nut) in my storage unit somewhere. If you are interested in the set. let me know and I'll look for it.

My '97 is the Gold Package....but isn't too faded despite being in the Texas sun.
