Wow. My comments are in the Pirate thread.

I agree with them comments. But it's a sickness for me. I can't help it. Yeah, it'd be cheaper, but I love tinkering. Hell the front 80 linkage blows. and he's keeping it. The rear lower links on the newer 80's are tiny...
and honestly, the drivetrain is not suited for a buggy... so then what's left? Nothing... if I build a tube buggy, it's getting a GM drivetrain, and 60/14 axles... but then i couldn't come to the cruiser events!

I got no problem AT ALL with a buggy using Toyota stuff...I love the 1FZ and the auto with it. Love it.

It would make a great combo for a tube chassis with 37's....

I see about 2x more labor required to go this route.

I am sure it started off small and ended up like this. That is how it always happened to me.

I would think you're right. Plans started to evolve and ended up taking on a life of their own.

It's an amazing build but I honestly can't see the point. Why coilovers and such if you are keeping the stock links? Gotta be heavier than HalfAss with all that tube - the hood and fenders don't weigh that much. Cool project but I think the low tech/low budget approach makes more sense for a rolled 80:o

Hey guys, my mom is wanting to sell our family 96LC. It is Green with tan int. has 160K miles i believe, maybe less. No lockers, paint is oxidized, needs a good cleanup. Runs great, AC blows cold, has third row. My wife was driving it for a couple months before the baby got here. This is a solid truck would be great for that teen wanting a LC. She wants 5K OBO. It is located in Madison, Ashton Park subdivision. Give me a call and I can show it to you. Dearman 601-842-9969

Welcome back to the living Bill !!

despite the murray fuel cap i installed, my toyota landcruiser seems to have developed an issue. i noticed a few days ago that the low coolant light would come on after about 5 minutes of driving. it stays on for a couple minutes, then it goes out. then it doesnt come back on again until after i have turned off and re-started the toyota landcruiser. after about 5 minutes of driving it comes on again, etc.

since this is a low coolant light, i decided that the best thing to do was check the coolant level. the plastic bottle thingy connected to the radiator was empty except for some dregs at the very bottom. the radiator itself had fluid in it, but it looked like the level was low. so i used my pasty white tax law hands to add some antifreeze until the coolant reached the "full" line. the vehicle had been sitting for awhile and had completely cooled down at this point.

drove the toyota landcruiser today and the coolant warning light went through its familiar pattern again. it comes on for awhile, then goes off, might flicker back on once or twice, then goes off for the rest of the drive. when i got home and popped the hood it looked like this on the inside:

apparently coolant sprayed all over the place, and of course the coolant level in the plastic bottle is now lower than the "full" line again (although the radiator itself is full of coolant).

so, do ya'll think the radiator cap is the issue? or there is some other issue w/ the radiator? what worries me is that really wet spot where it looks like the foam has deteriorated. like maybe coolant has been steadily leaking out of the radiator at that point.

second question: is a murray fuel cap available for the radiator?

let us see your crack

I'd recheck that "low coolant light.". I'm pretty sure what you're seeing is a low engine oil light. My 80s don't have low coolant lights, only temp gauges (albeit crappy ones). Im pretty sure yours is the same.

Coolant could be coming from a variety of places, and I'd have Chri-us pressure check the radiator, cap, and check your radiator hoses. In the meantime, check your oil level......
