I think that is the same 80 that was listed on mud not too long ago.. Guy wanted 27k i believe. Under 40 k miles

Quote from seller.
"The reserve is over 30K.
If you are still interested come by.
No sense in wasting my/your time. "
Apparently, he's recognized that a sub-$30k reserve is less ridiculous than an over-$30k reserve.

I know there are myriad opinions about what creates value. That being said, while I much prefer the looks/utility of an "outfitted" 80, what has to go through someone's head to actually modify ANYTHING on a 39k Land Cruiser? Seems to me it would be worth a lot more to that kind of buyer in its original configuration..........If I were looking for a "new" 80, it would to me.

Agreed

Looking for a pair of calipers in good working condition for an 80-series front axle. 96 is the year if that matters. Meester Daryl has a set that he thinks need rebuilt. Looking for a set in useable condition before I beg Daryl to relinquish some of his stash :o

I bought some few years ago for about $50 a piece at Oreally's...they were remans but worked great.

What is this rubber thing bolted to the tcase onthe passenger side.

Dampener of some sort?

It is hitting my Iron Pig skid plate support & rattling.
Is it needed?

It is not just a dampener, it is a Dynamic Dampener!

Whats the difference?
Maybe it has mystical powers?
Probably the secret reason why 80s do so well offroad.

I will have to leave it alone then...

Already trading my stock wheels and tires for some almost new 315 KM2s on factory wheels...straight across! I guess I will be putting on a lift kit sooner than I thought. of course I've gotta put the motor back together and get it stabbed in there too. Toyota of Dallas came through on a big way on all the parts that we needed for the motor. unfortunately FedEx screwed up and bent the head gasket in half.

White Trash of the Elwood Chapter, TORC4x4.org, Cottonland Cruisers.

Thinking about pulling the 345's off my 80 and going back to 295's

Anyone thinking about stepping up?

Those 345's ought to be worth some $$$. I don't see any in the world right now.
