This support is a problem Ive just learned is missing. When flexed from driver side it shifts hard or heavy at the shifter and the fan hits shroud. Passenger side no problems. Should i try and have bar welded in or cut and start over with another assembly if i can source it. Any suggestion's at all would be awesome. 1997

Yes, I bought it salvage title but he said it was not frame damaged! Lol cant back out now!

Happy to cut one out and ship it won’t be cheep!
I remember seeing a kit being proposed from maybe @PIP that would bolt/weld in.

It must drive like absolute garbage with that missing eh? That bar does several important things for the frame and steering.

Yes, I have a bolt in kit to upgrade all this for big tires and Cummins swaps. I may also have a bar or two laying around that we've cut out, but I bet they aren't long enough as we used to cut a section out of the bar before designing a whole new crossmember.

I could put you in touch with a customer installing one soon though. Maybe he can cut the bar so it's long enough for to weld in?

One word of warning though- This is a very difficult area to weld without the body and engine removed. If you are a good stick welder you can probably weld the new one in. I don't think it's possible with MIG. You can clearly see where you need to weld you just can't get in there to do it.

I'll keep you in mind. Ive been on a road trip reading for hours and did not see PIPs write on this. I did see the steering box crack. Thanks!!
