Weird, I measured my plywood temp mount and it's perfect centered on the plastic panel. Accidental accuracy is the best.
 
Sooooo...if I were budgeting for new 80 accessories this year...would I budget Q1 or Q2 for this wonderful product? :coffee:

This is what happens when I go looking for that thread on that other interior rear quarter panel bracket thingy, and now I wind up finding something else I need!! Damn...
 
No worries. I'm not in a rush. Just was curious. I know it will be perfect when it's ready.
 
I have a new ask for the D-Pillar.

Last weekend's wheeling trip involved the neighbor boys so I had to throw one of the 3rd row seats back in. This caused some grief with my hillbilly plywood solar mount and my Water Brick/Puma Mount. I removed the Puma mount just fine and after an hour of staring at it, I re-purposed an old Jeep bumper bracket I scavenged from my neighbor's never-ending bumper swap project and managed an offset mount that allowed me to put the 3rd row belt in and retain my solar mount. The lift gate clears and the seat clears in the reclined position. It's very solid and has me thinking about what to do when the D-Pillar mount is in place.

Is this something that could be incorporated into your production D-Pillar mount? Something to accommodate the 3rd row belt should Life come knocking and screw up one's truck plans? I know the 3rd row is where the D-Pillar mount will actually mount. I was thinking a longer seatbelt bolt combined with some sort of bolt/sleeve/nut pass-through mount nut thing may work to retain the D-Pillar mount AND the seat belt should it be required. What say you?

I was able to reinstall the belt retractor with no issue which was nice. :P

@Dissent There is both a structural and liability issue. I'm worried more about the structural. In a word I would say no. That being said, I've designed enough into the D-Pillar that it will disconnect easily.
 
No worries, I'll rig something up. I can't remove the solar controller when I go out, still need it for the fridge and such. I may have to replace my ancient amplifier for a smaller setup in the wall.

I found a solid solution to extend seatbelts if need be (see pic).

I figure between my awesome Jeep bumper bracket that is in place now and something like that, I should be able to make something work that's still very safe.

That said, I have 2 questions:
* When do you think these will be ready for release?
* If you go with the MorningStar Solar controller pictured back on Page 7, is there anything planned to be able to see/read the LCD display or is there a remote panel planned?

I caught the Meti-Pack bug and am getting ready to order a whole slew of components to get my roof lights moved around and wired up properly. My temporary electrically insulated, not weather insulated, have already started to corrode nicely here in the dry desert of Phoenix.
 
Now I'm leaning towards some L-Track solutions to mount the shoulder restraint as a quick disconnect. That stuff offers up tons of flexibility.
 
You think it would be compatible with RAM mounts? Give lighting and other accessories more articulation?
