80 Series 6BT swap - Rockbug Adapter

Not new to searching mud to troubleshoot, but after a decade I made an account.

I'm at a standstill with my 6BT 80 series swap. Besides a few loose ends and some plumbing I'm having trouble sourcing an adapter from the t case to the NV4500. Motor and trans are in the truck.

I've got a buddy working on a solution, but I'm curious because I've heard Rockbug used to make two kits for this swap. One that swaps the output shaft of the NV4500 to match the Toyota case and another kit that requires splitting the t case and adapting the case to the NV spline count.

Seems like Rockbug is gone, and the only kit I could source if I want to get this truck driving again requires tearing my NV4500 apart. It's easier to split a case vs drop my trans IMO.

ISO of this elusive t case rock bug kit if it exists, or I'll just wait for my buddies solution. Mainly curious if anyone has leads on tracking one of these kits down. Might be a patience is a virtue thing but I figured I'd put a feeler out.

Awesome to hear! Just to confirm, you make the kit that adapts the transfer case, not the kit that requires the NV45 main shaft to be replaced?

Disregard, I've purchased a few things from ya for this swap already!

I've come across your kit, looks solid. I have a 2nd gen cummins and I have a deep hatred for the NV45 at this point in my life. If I can avoid tearing the NV in my 80 apart I'd like to. From a trail side repair perspective and some of the stories I've heard from swap guys saying they have destroyed the splines on the NV output and then the truck is dead in the water. I can imagine rebuilding my case on the side of the trail, an NV isn't happening even if I had a spare shaft.

The kit I make now replaces the nv4500 mainshaft.

Parts are in the works for a new 29 spline HF2AV input shaft to work with nv4500, nv5600, g56, 8HP75, 68RFE and ZF8HP1080. These will not be released until we've got some time on the 6.7/68rfe 80 series package.

If you want to get in depth on the nv4500 stuff give me a call. I know them from a rebuilder perspective and I make parts for them. And I've seen the spline problems with parts made by others.
