Magical elfin Leprechaun looks on..

He looks like a wild leprechaun about to take a dump in Lenny's shop.

Bad little leprechaun!!!

Ya'll crazy.
But look closely and you can see shunt running down my pant

Another option is to put a receiver tube on the tire carrier. It gives you options to mount stuff like a bike rack or shovel/axes.

Some pics from my build.

davegonz did you use the swing arm gas struts on your 4x4labs bumper?

Going with T handle pull pin to keep swing outs open since I bent the gas strut mounts after one wheeling trip

Here is the mounting location I am thinking about:

got the T handle pull pin from Polyperformance for $10. I like the construction and comes apart easy so welding it on won't be an issue for the internals.

T handle p welded to spindle housing.
open and pin in locked position. I like the way this came out vs the gas strut design.

Does the t handle have a spring in it? I like that better than my chain link design.

Yes it does have a spring in it. It also comes apart for ease of welding.

I have it where the pin will glide over the bumper and pop in the hole. so all I have to do is pull pin to release it when i close it. The 4x4 labs bumper has a curved edge so the pin will not get hung up on the edge of bumper.

If your Kaymar has a 90 degree edge then you may need to pull pin when you are opening swing out to clear bumper. no big deal but can be cured if need be.
