The only play that I got was from the OEM foot to OEM bar so I installed these Ultra scientific and very nice looking bolts (looks like crap) in the center foot which I don't have, to support the bar a little extra. I expected it to help a little bit but it actually stiffened up the rack a huge amount if I was going to do this 80/20 project again I would buy the gimviti feet and make all of the bars out of aluminum

1515 front to back with gamviti and 1530 cross rails, seems amazingly strong, oem bars were very weak

I haven't played with any of this yet, but I was wondering what would happen if you made a frame out of 8030 15 series (I know the cost) and attached the crossbars to the frame? This would allow additional crossbars on top of the 8020 attached to the OEM rack and allow for easy connection for a RTT. Also, added length of the bars attached to the OEM rack might allow for a light bar in front.

Just curious - again, I haven't yet played with 8020 yet but have been trying to think of what I might want and the options that I would like to have.

I've seen others replaced the OEM crossbars with 20-2040
