8/21 Wheeler Lake (Mosquito Pass if time permits)

The CLC website calendar says 7:30/8:00. That is the official listed time and has always been the default. People view our website calendar from locations all over (other than COS and W.P.) and sometimes join us at the trailhead based on what they read on our calendar.

I volunteer to be the trail leader. We are going leave the W.P. Western meeting location at 8:00 sharp.

I am taking my propane grill to Wheeler Lake. If anyone would like to grill on it, you are welcome to. Grill dogs, bratwurst, etc., only. No burgers, please, they drip too much grease.

Awesome. I will be there. Gave the red rust bucket a thorough inspection, thought I needed brakes but they were good. Everything else checked out OK. Damn that truck, it never needs maintenance. Making all my other rigs look bad. :D

My passenger seat is open. If anyone wants to ride with me, call me at 7AM Saturday, 439-9602, or let me know at the Western. The Western people will let you leave your car there if you ask.

Make sure you introduce yourself when you see us 1195e. New wheelers are always welcome. My name is Luke, I drive the red '88 minitruck that has rust holes so big you could fit a softball through them. See you there.

Great trip. My daughter and I had lots of fun.

Do we post pictures here or somewhere else? Not sure how it works since the trip pictures seem to stop after 2008.

The really sad part is that we passed a "champagne colored Wrangler with two women in it" (as described on the radio) that made it up the climb with 31" BFG all terrains and no lockers. yeah, Match got out driven by a couple of chicks! :D

Rui,

Nice job on the video!
x2 very nice job.

Thanks, I like the part where Luke runs away like a little girl!:grinpimp:
I didn't know he could move that fast!

Why yes, yes he did.

My day ended by getting pulled over in Alma of all places. Town was crowded with people and I kept a close eye on my speed so I couldn't believe when I saw the lights and he flicked his siren. Turns out he pulled me over for no front license plate of all things. Gave him all my paperwork and he came back with a verbal warning only, so at least that was cool. No issues on the drive home due to "the rock", the brake lines show no signs of being hit.

I got my front locker working again but it was one of those fiddle/test electronics not do anything and try again and it works. The relay was chattering so I don't know if it is a poor connection or bad relay (my first inclination). Got my trailer light wiring relocated. I'll post a few pics later.

Leon,
I thought you had pics of the rocks in the fender? Are you going to post...

breakin the law breakin the law...didn't know you were such a rebel...no front plate eh...whats next...gona rip those tags off the pillows????

Next time just keep your front plate in the glove box...mangle it a bit...then when the cop asks you where it is...just tell him it got ripped off on the trail and show him the mangled plate.;)

I think we should get a group together and try to make it to Mosquito pass next weekend....to give the folks that did not make it up wheeler a redo.
