I don't repair radiators unless they are the early straight fin ones and you really have no choice. I normally do the Champion 3 or 4 core if the customer is wanting something better than stock. Stock if they care about resale value.

I live in Miami and my OEM rad has seen better days. Debating going the same route you took if I can find a good rad guy here. What kind of a turn around did you have for yours?
I am of the opinion there is nothing better than stock. This is aluminum--you will pay for the cheap-ness down the road--Al/O2 in the engine - you will have a hard time getting out--acid clean will get most of it out, but it will take the steel with it--it will also "pocket" the steel surfaces, creating small pits that will increase the surface area for corrosion to form in----stick with OEM
