Not to drag anyone or anything through the mud (hee-hee, I'm pun-ny) but I am a bit jealous of all the LC guys on this site as they get all the cool give aways, etc.

What do you guys feel and think about this idea?

It's just a thought I have been considering. Maybe talking to a couple people, both on the site here, and of course manufacturers and distributors in a little while about bringing the brotherhood of vehicles and the way we're treated a little more in line.

Heck, a 4Runner is still made in Japan right? :D It's the LC's little brother in my eyes and more than capable enough to handle the everyday stuff plus wheeling..the truck guys will only benefit by this if it was ever to see the light of day..That or I finally kick the idea of finding a decent 60 to replace Lightening (the 60 that got rolled/wrecked a few years back) and get an 80? ;p

;p Seriously, let's chat about this in here (79-95 Toyota) and keep it sane and polite so the mods don't have to move it out of here and into the chat box or trash files.

^

Just food for thought is where I am going with this. Sort of how they have a lot of events and the truck and 4Runner crowd's just starting to play catch-up.

This is a "Land Cruiser" site... I'm here because I'm involved with the TLCA, and I like Cruisers as much as I like 4Runners and Mini's. I go to events and I look at all types of rigs. I doubt I'd be interested in any event that was exclusively Cruisers, or exclusively mini/4Runners. There are no "section sponsors" here. There just happen to be more Cruiser oriented products offered here, that's why there are more cruiser stuff give-aways. Half of the time the give-aways are not by a real "sponsor" but by a normal use that has the ability and time to make a cool product and the good nature to offer one up for free to a Mud member at random.

If you want more 4Rnr/Mini stuff give-aways, then go make something cool for us and give us one! I'll take a sweet 1st Gen 4Runner T shirt!

Good points, now if only I wasn't graphically challenged I could do a shirt easily. Heck I could probably even sell some if anyone actually said they'd buy, I just need a place that'll both work with and listen to me is all.

*No I am not trying to pimp here, so nobody go there, Jerod asked, I am offering the idea is all..

Here, just did this..give me a pic to play with and I'll see what I can do.

We should see about doing something is all I am thinking, look at how the 4Runner jamboree's grown.

Ill give 2010 calendars away to the first five that hit me up with a pm and addy... specifically people who have made a difference to this section... i got ones with 'working girls' in tight jeans and button up shirts, i got some swimsuit editions, some 'motivational', some 'farm', and some 'nature' ones... of course, ill need proof that you've actually helped in some large way...

I suck the life out of this forum, so leave me out of the calendar giveaway..

Seriously though, I'm digging the freebie TRD and 4'x3' FedEx full year deal we got.

Anyhow, I'm not inclining that there is a lack of support here by any means, I just am finding out that when it comes to support for the trucks and 4Runers there is some serious disparity between us and them. The following is experience and opinion only..

I called "Business X" the other day to price a couple of center caps that are a direct swap from a Land Cruiser to a 4Runner and the guy wasn't helpful in the least, then when I found out who I was talking to I vowed to never give him my money if I do get a Land Cruiser..it was the busines owner who should have known his product better IMHO.

Big places like Marlin work hard for our support, yet they have their own deals or going for activities, etc, but it's the far side of the spectrum with hard core stuff mostly rather than say expedition, light crawling, etc. Why is it the Land Cruiser support base is so much bigger, is it because like has been said above, we're looked upon as cheap bastards and in a different tax bracket?

Heck, I wish, I've spent around $20k in the last three years including purchase with mine..

I hope this makes sense.

Did I miss all the Land Cruiser Give Aways?

Jacket that Said Toyota
STIHL Calendar
3 - Silver Stars
T-Shirt that Said "Get Over It" with a picture of an FJ 40.

I probably missed a few.

Onur had a big one in the 80 section, George gave away one of his LED lights I believe, woody gave away (a) license plate(s),....

*You guys hear that, Dan's gonna hook us up? ;) Lemme go see what's in his garage sale thread that I need! :D
*Dan, we're gonna be in your area soon, well, as soon as I figure out our route. Central Valley through Hanford/Fresno, out to the Coast then back up PCH.
