For Sale '77 fj-40 Clayton, NJ $8K /obo

My Dad has decided that he'd like to part ways with his 40. It is bone stock ( aside from a few small upgrades). It has 126K on the ticker.

He has owned it since 1998, during which time it has been 100% garage kept. There is some bondo that is bubbling on the tub, but no holes in the body. The paint is shiny as can be.

I know some about the truck, i'll do my best to give whatever info that i can.

The simple upgrades are a tuffy console, boomerang shackles, a mean green alternator , flowmaster exhaust and slightly larger tires.

He also has a kayline soft top, a header, a new headliner, the original wheels, an oem spare tire carrier and a few other odds and ends that go with it.

The truck has been registered with QQ plates in NJ for the past 10 years.

in all honesty, it really would not take much to make it a 10. i figure as it sits it is an 7.5-8.

i don't believe so. I will ask though. I think if he were to trade, he would be more interested in an older triumph TR.

Find out about the watercraft, but also ask about the TR. I MAY be able to do a '75 TR-6. No promises on that. We'll burn that bridge when we come to it.

Talked to him. He's not interested in a boat. If you can shoot me some info on the tr6, that is definitely a possibility for him, as long as it isn't a basket case.

I know of at least one that has been sitting for a while, don't know what's wrong with it, 1st gen but IFS, IIRC. Buddy of mine is building an '89 too (I hooked him up with it). What are you looking for? I find a lot of stuff ... that's how I ended up with such a collection, which I'm slowing whittling down. Too many projects, not enough time!

it does not have rust. it has bondo bubbles. these would be remediated with a pair of 1/4 skins from ipor ( 300 bucks tops).

not particularly interested in a trade for a bike.

i'm looking for a late 80s truck to turn into a close to home commuter and occasional fishing rig. IFS doesnt really bother me.

pretty much i'd be throwing 31s or so on it, adding a soft top and just doing PM on it. thanks in advance for throwing anything you find my way.

Yeah i'm sad to see it go too. My Dad is just getting older and wants something a little more fun for him.
