75/79 Long Range Tank (Cab Chassis) Help Needed!

Thanks Rosco. This is the first ever time Sri Lanka is getting the 79. We have always had the troopies and the short and mid's but the local Toyota dealership has brought down ten 79 pick ups as a trial run. Hence, these vehicles are being offered with a 1HZ engine and have no extras. The next batch being ordered will be having the sub tank and the diff locks. So, this one does not have a sub tank fuel guage.

If this doesnt work out, my next option is to get the local ARB dealer to get a long ranger tank but that means I will have to get rid of the existing tank. Would that be better than having a sub tank?

Anyway, I am in the freight business so I am quite sure our agent in Australia will be able to ship them to me provided entaran still has them.

Oh well,freight was Entaran's main headche so if you can organise it ,all the better.
Long Ranger make a version of both tanks. According to the EPC,the MWB use the same main tank as the sub tank in a 75/79 series.
So if you ordered Long Ranger tank for a 73 series it should fit in the 79 series as an aux tank.
However you would need to be 100% sure before go ahead.
Alternatively,use a 2nd hand tank from a local midi,petrol and diesel are the same.

You could also use the sub tank from a troopy.
