sounds great are they a kit? whats included? i am running a 3 inch exhaust do you reakon there will be enough clearance between tank and chassis rail for that size exhaust to fit? sorry bout all the questions just wanna sus it out proper

The ones I might be able to get a hold of are removed from Fraser Island Backpacker Troopys before they go to the Island. Not sure what would be included with them yet.

On the Utes the exhaust goes outside the chassis rail around the tank. I reckon there wouldn't be enough clearance for a 3" pipe between the tank and the rails.

I have been known to be wrong before though

Supplies aren't a problem. There's probably 100+ tanks sitting at the place I can get them. All brand new and never used.

You can -just- squeeze a 3 inch pipe past, but really you'd be making it to fit.

As I said, having a s*** of a time getting exporters who'll backload them into containers. It's really hard work. Anything under 5000 dollars in shipping nobody wants to know about.

Would it be possible to send a bunch to Louis, and then from there they could get distributed? Would it be a problem Louis, and how much do you think shipping would be across the country for a tank?
Cheers,
Deny

Hi!

I'm new to the list... but as i'm in the proces of getting my 1985 BJ75 troopy ready for a trip to northern scandinavia, with a smalle detour to russia, next april.... I feell that one of the aux tanks would be a good addition to my rigg :)

But i guess that shipping to europe is just as difficult??

Best regards

i would be interested in a couple... these fit botht eh 79 and the 75 series??

I'm still in if I can get one, but I can't buy a container full of them. I'd be happy to distibute them somehow though - if someone has a container coming from australia it ight be good to share a load.

Regards,

Why not just use the main tank from a BJ70/73/74,they are same part as the aux tank on a 75 series?;)
The end of the chassis where they sit is the same shape and width on all models.
I hope you check it ,but Im pretty sure as it mentions it in the EPC.
Maybe even a LJ7* tank would work:D

damn Rosco, you come up with some cool advice...
i will do some checking...LOL!! finally something good to come from that old LJ...

I would probably be interested in two if the shipping works out. If I understand correctly from other posts this would work as a replacement tank for my old BJ70 and I could use another as a long range tank in my BJ75.

Thanks for your efforts entaran

I am just about to get a 2007 HZJ79R and unfortunately Toyota has not ordered the optional 90 liter sub tank.

Can someone tell me if the tank Entaran is offering will fit my vehicle. Also, someone said that there is no need for a second fuel guage. In that case how do you check it? Also does the tank come with all the wiring and the selector switch?

I think Entaran is away for awhile.
It takes a fair bit of work and extra parts to do it to Toyota's standard and Entarans tanks dont have the extra parts. They have been pulled from new hire vehicles so I presume they left the solenoids and extra fuel lines in the vehicles.
It would be easier to fit a tank like this and use aftermarket fuel solenoids amd electric pump to fill one tank from the other, like some of the petrol landcruisers

Is it possible your new Landcruiser will have the aux tanks as standard, the same as the HZJ79R imported into Australia?

From memory they still have a fuel gauge for each tank in the upper left hand corner of the dash fascia

Thanks Rosco. This is the first ever time Sri Lanka is getting the 79. We have always had the troopies and the short and mid's but the local Toyota dealership has brought down ten 79 pick ups as a trial run. Hence, these vehicles are being offered with a 1HZ engine and have no extras. The next batch being ordered will be having the sub tank and the diff locks. So, this one does not have a sub tank fuel guage.

If this doesnt work out, my next option is to get the local ARB dealer to get a long ranger tank but that means I will have to get rid of the existing tank. Would that be better than having a sub tank?

Anyway, I am in the freight business so I am quite sure our agent in Australia will be able to ship them to me provided entaran still has them.
