What's the story on this unit? Looks great!!
I bought it from Mark Hawley, the owner of Metaltech. He bought it when it came over from Japan about four years ago and has taken very good care of it. Some very good friends on the West Coast (Bill, Georg, Dominic, etc) were kind enough to offer to fetch this unit from Mark in Oregon and get it down to the Sacramento area where Sherry and I will fly out and drive it home from there next month. Again, THANKS guys!
It's a 13BT truck with auto trans, AC, and RHD. Oh has roughly 177,000km on the clock (110k miles) and from all of the photos and Marks description it is as rust free as any 70 series in the US short of a fully restored truck. I'm very excited to see it
I am clearly no expert but, from what I have learned, the 2L-TE does not enjoy the best reputation and I understand that the LJ is a lighter duty version of the line. But... with those miles, the lockers, and the price it certainly may be worth the gamble. I know Joe has talked about picking one up and doing a motor swap.

I looked at one of that vintage in Houston. It was significantly more $$$, but I decided to pass based on the engine.

Anything with an L engine iteration is a walking time Bomb.
In fact, any of these used 25+ year old trucks are going to require thousands on the backside after purchase.
Or drive it and cross your fingers.
These are high end exotic used cars.
