One day! Not even one day! Less than 17 hours before Fireman mucks up a perfectly good 70 series specific thread with Hilux and 4Runner posts. Get 'em, Nolen.
I want to have ownership in this thread...

Another pic. Notice the very cool one-off Metaltech sliders... . Thanks Mark!
What's the story on this unit? Looks great!!
I am clearly no expert but, from what I have learned, the 2L-TE does not enjoy the best reputation and I understand that the LJ is a lighter duty version of the line. But... with those miles, the lockers, and the price it certainly may be worth the gamble. I know Joe has talked about picking one up and doing a motor swap.
I'll add some simple tech for y'all:
B/2B/3B/13B-T:
Oil Filter: 15600-41010 or 90915-YZZD3 (interchangeable)
Fuel Filter: 23303-64010/23303-56031 (not interchangeable)
Air filter: 17801-61030 (washable)/17801-68020 (this differentiation is market specific)
H/2H/12H-T:
Oil Filter: 16501-68010
Air filter: 17801-61030/17801-68020
Fuel Filter: 23303-54072
1PZ/1HZ/1HD-T/1HD-FT/1HD-FTE:
Oil Filter: 90915-30002
Air filter (depends on platform): 17801-61030/17801-68020/17801-50040/17801-17010
Fuel filter: (depends on platform, market and year range): 23303-64010/23303-64480/23390-51070 (not interchangeable)
7x specific stuff pre-1990: [1990 is an important year for the 7x series just like 1999 was as well as 2005-2007 time period. Many different changes that require PNC changes as well as structural differentiations]
Front brake pads: 04465-35170
Front rotors: 43512-60100
--> Front axle rebuild parts will be all the same as disc brake 40/60/62 stuff unless it's LJ/light duty LC Prado's stuff or if it has ADD and then it gets different gaskets and some other items.
Rear brake shoe kit: 04495-60070 (same as 40/60/62 rear drum brake shoes
Brake drum: Toyota brake drums are super robust but super expensive. Hit up your NAPA.
LJ and lighter duty LC Prado's received disc rotors in the rear. Heavy duty LC's remained drum.
Rear SFA's will be the same parts as 40/60/62 stuff (sealed bearings, gaskets, and seals).
Rear FF will be the same as the FF 80 series parts except for the oil seal which will be the same as the front version and the gaskets will be the same as the fronts as well. Wheel bearings for the rear will be the same as the fronts: 90368-45087/90368-49084
90311-62001
90310-35001
43422-60010
42419-60011
Let's see.... What else?
