Simple enough. Pickle fork and a hammer did the trick.

I finished up the rear and went to mount the wheel and noticed it doesn’t sit flush as these two screws stick out off the face.

What’s the deal?
Those screws are there to keep the drum in place when removing wheels (mainly for assembling them on the line). Keep them, remove them won't make a difference but it does bring up a lot of "rage bate" on the web surprisingly enough-lol. The back of the wheel should have dimples in locations to clear them if I remember right. I removed them for my Fj.Co wheels which didn't have dimples.

Well s***….
Tight squeeze. Topless time.

Needs a final torque and grease. She tracks straight but steering wheel needs adjustment. Other than that, pretty stoked!

Thanks...did some quick digging and educated myself. I can see why there's different trains of thought on this issue.

On my way home from the gym this morning and this sound suddenly turns on. No power loss. Doesn’t continue at full stop. Rev the engine and no sound so I’m thinkin it’s got to be tranny.

Any thoughts?

Looking at previous posts, it appears you just installed lift springs. It could be something with the driveshaft or its mounting points. U joints, slip joint or lose or worn tcase and pinion bearings. Or possible driveshaft angles stressing stuff. Pull the shafts and inspect.
