Hey everyone,
My name is Stuart and I'm from Oxnard California. I bought this truck last year but taking awhile to towing it to my house. I finally got her into my garage about a month ago. Right now, I'm just doing some planing and buying parts. I'd pretty much bought it in pieces but somewhat put together. It came with Chevy 327, no tranny or transfer case.
My plan was to keep the engine and put 700R4 with Splitcase but I decided to use H55F instead. I'll try to keep as stock as possible on the rest of the truck :D.
Feel free to post any comments. It's for my own benefit too, this will be my first build/restoring any type of vehicle. I figure I'll post some pictures from the day I got it.

Great Project!

You are in the area for land Cruiser Parts.

Spector Off Road in Chatsworth
Marks Off Road in Burbank
Jim Dickey in Long Beach
I'm not sure what Man A Fre has to offer on the FJ 45's but they are in Simi Valley
TLC in Van Nuys

The list goes on but those are the people in your area.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I'd been to Man-a-fre and Specter but haven't been to the other places yet. I just picked up H55F from MAF last week.

What's the story with the floor? Does it have one? Looks like a piece of plywood from the pics.

I have a set of stock seats in the FS section here if you need them.

Best

Mark A.

P.S. I think you're the guy that called last week on the fence between the stick vs auto. So I guess you made up your mind!

Yeah, that was me that called you last week. The floor is fine, the plywood was there to keep the parts inside when we towed it to my place. I still have original seats, thanks for the offer though. I go to LA almost every weekend. I'll stop by one of these Friday.

Mocking up the tranny. It's sitting higher than I thought. The transfercase shifter is pretty close to hitting the floorboard and it's hitting the side of the tranny hump. I need to make some adjustments.

Like I said Friday, I would give the cab a 1" body lift and then re-evaluate.

I'll try to take some pics of the axle build tomorrow.;)

Sounds good Mark. I'm going to take the body off and start working on the frame in the next couple of weeks. I'll give it a lift when I put the body back on. Yeah, pictures will be nice for my build portfolio. Thanks again.

Yeah, I'd talk to Mark last week. Got a lot of good infos from him. I'm also getting a disc brakes front axel from him. Nice truck you got by the way. I can't wait to see mine finish. I still got a long way to go.

I got the cab and bed off today. The frame looks really good. This will save me plenty of time.

Some KBS coating that I'll use for the frame. It's pretty similar to the POR 15. Never used it before. Hopefully it'll turn out good.
