Hey all,

I’m attempting to perform a cut n turn on my 62 front axle in my pickup. I’ve cut and ground out one side, seems like the seam between the housing and knuckle ball tube is visible but I’m not sure? I did my best to follow the mud cut and turn write up, cut just to the side of the factory weld and about 1/4” deep, gouged it out to about 1/4” wide. Currently have torched the crap out of the end of the housing and slipped a 1/2” breaker bar into the the knuckle ball with 2’ of 1.5” DOM on the end in an attempt to spin it but no luck. Any ideas?

Wack on it with a BFH a couple of times? Your cut appears to be sufficient.
Yeah I gave the end of the housing some good wacks with a brass sledge, didn’t seem to help much. I may need remove the housing from the truck and clamp it to my fab table, I can see the suspension is flexing quite a bit when I pry on the knuckle ball.
