Beautiful truck!

Silly question, but can you show some more photos of that engine bay? I haven't seen too many other 3F equipped FJ62's, and I'm curious if there are multiple accessory configurations. I don't see a voltage regulator on the fender, so it may have an upgraded alternator compared to the unit on my truck.

Thanks!

Sure. I will take some this evening and post them up.

Who did you purchase this through? Or did you do the legwork yourself?
Does it have AC and or heat?
Was it refurbished in Venezuela?

It looks awesome!
I bought it off pcarmarket (orignally Porsche auction site but sells everything now like Bring A Trailer). It was refurbished by House of Cruisers in Venezuela and imported to Miami where it had a FL clean title. I had it shipped to Knoxville, TN after winning the auction. Yes, it has AC. Auction link 1992 FJ62 - RED

It is "good from far but far from good" I'm afraid. They really did a good job on the body/frame restoration but mechanically it has been a bit of a nightmare. I am finding that "everything works as it should" means something different in Venezuela/Miami vs here in East TN. The engine sputters and hesitates under almost any load. The transmission lost reverse today (25 miles driven since delivery last week) and upon inspection was 2qts low of ATF. One of the windows doesn't work, power locks don't work, radio and clock are not operational. There is NO heat (heater control valve has been zip tied closed and I'm afraid that is because the core has a hole or some issue they were hiding). Basically nothing is as described from the auction listing and very few things work as they should or at all. I'm talking with the company rep now. Hopefully we come to a positive resolution but at this point I don't know what that would be. It is going to take money and time to get it right and the only reason I paid what I did (over paid) was because my time is almost non-existent these days. Sorry for the long rant. This thread probably isn't the place for this discussion.
Thanks! Yea ..while unfortunate, we all need to hear these stories to shine light on shady dealers and shops.

I hope it all works out!

Sorry you have had issues, hopefully the body resto holds up. I have seen this so many times on these SA imports. Including trucks that companies are charging $100k+ Normally there are so many hidden issues that much of it needs to be completely redone.

Man I’m sorry to hear this. I’m about $25k fixing what I paid for. On top of market. Turns out the shop I paid for pre-purchase was covering their past mistakes. I reached out to the previous owner and actually got him to refund $5k. He didn’t have to do that but his a-list reputation would have taken a hit.

All I can say is identify what it is on your list and start working on it. The sooner you start enjoying it the sooner you get past it. I wouldn’t take my foot off their throat though.

If you need to talk or need help with your list, parts, parts sources and some resources message me.
