I am interested in purchasing the set of 12 volt mirrors. From all the previous posts I have been unable to determine whether the require drilling or they simply mount in the stock mirror holes. Can you verify this?

What about this was this confusing?

"JDM powered fender mirrors"

;-)

right. thanks for the helpful sarcasm.

I overlooked the word "fender" somehow.

Also I re-read post # 5 more carefully. Is there a photo out there somewhere with these installed(echo post 21)? I'd like to see their position on the fender.

they look like this..........

My pleasure!... (what?... MORE sarcasm! Arrrgggghhhh...)

sorry, just messin' with you while I wait for Hanna to take out my power here on Long Island....

FWIW I think they are super cool (I have a set of 40 series OEM ones that are going on my 40) BUT they would NOT be good out in the woods... those suckers would get torn off pretty darn quickly (or "fastly" as my 6 year old said last night)

Happy Hurricane. We just survived Gustav. Looks like Ike may pay us a visit soon.

Those mirrors are cool but I don't care for the look on the fender and must agree with Woytovich that for those of us who wheel in heavily wooded areas, they wouldn't stay on for one ride. I'm on my 3rd set of "aussie mirrors". Looking for a replacement even now.......

I'll chime in some more since I have these on my rig. The mirrors swing (pivot) on the base when hit or can easily be swung inward if on a tight trail. The angle of vision is leaps and bounds better than any door mounted mirror I have used. They are very adjustable since you have both the pivot and the motored mirror for adjustment. I think they are a great improvement over the other mirrors if you can justify the price which is a hell of a lot cheaper than they were even a year and a half ago.

Thanks for the cool stuff MOT.

maybe its the arb bar, winch and cool tires but those mirrors look good on your truck. Any thoughts whether they could just be mounted to the doors in the stock position?

Because of the way the base is curved for the fender I would say that they could not easily be mounted on the stock location. If power and larger surface is your goal then I would suggest painting or powdercoating some chrome powered fj62 mirrors and mounting those with the proper harness and controller.

thanks. Sturdier mirrors is my main goal. The so called "aussie mirrors" are poorly made. I bought the cheaper knockoffs and compared them to someone who had the originals. I could percieve no difference. Low-grade plastic housing and cheap glass which rattled around unless you put some silicone on it. They also tend to flop around no matter how much you tighten the adjuster screw. the housing breaks etc.....junk. the JDM look pretty stout in the pix.

BTW, I can get these non-powered OEM JDM fender mirrors, too.;)

Can you tell me the part numbers? I'd like to look them up in my fiche to see if there is any more info on them...

What (more) information do you need? Maybe I can provide those information, unless you're just curious to see if you can get them from your local (or online) Toyota dealer(s).

OK, I'm a dick, but can't be (have) that big of one!:hillbilly:

You let me know if you can't get this part, as a starter...:

BTW, the 24 mirrors are sold, pending payment.

I'll post more in the future if I get more in, including the 12v ones, which I still have the original pair on top of this thread.

THANKS for looking, and Mark, let me know if you can get the gasket PN listed above.

Sorry to be a DICK myself - I didn't mean to be... I REALLY just wanted to look it up in my fiche to see if it was there to see how it related to the fender etc... brackets... other parts... harness maybe...

FWIW I have no intention of putting one on my 60... it wouldn't last a day out in the woods where I wheel. My 40 is going to be a street truck so the fender mirrors will do fine there... and I already have a set of those.

So here's what it shows (notice it skips all around YOUR part number):
