I really like it. I am a reformed Wagon basher. Cool ride, drives and rides awesome.
I have been reading a thread on Mud about modifications under $50 that guys do to their 60's. I picked up some ideas and added a few of my own.
Here are my mods under $50 so far:
Whenever I rent a car, I make off with the cargo netI know, I am a swine. Quick grips, cargo net and constant hot 12V plug for my fridge.
Busy picture, but here's what is in it:
Hella map light, clock/inside-outside temp gauge, Ipod touch (dropped) holder glued to empty fill plug, POS Maglight mount
Grab handles that I took out of an FJ-60 I parted out. I used 1.25" self tapping screws to attach them.
Finally, I really like my old school stock am/fm radio in the dash. I bought this speaker/amp setup from an ATV shop last year. It has 2 outdoor speakers and an amp in the tube. I use it on my Rhino and in my buggy when I want tunes. I just moved it over to the 60. Under $50 mod in this picture is the 3 x 12v plug.

Holy cow. I cannot believe that is my truck. Unbelievable. Didn't know it would look that cool with some new shoes and lift. Did I cash your check yet?

I asked above, you missed it, but what was the story with the head replacement? Was it just a gasket or a whole new head?
Who did the work? Damn fine job they did....
My mom was driving from Mobile to Jackson in the 60 when the head gasket "went". She had it repaired by a mechanic down near the Coast somewhere IIRC. He charged her some ridiculous price for it, so it is nice to know that he did a good job. I think she pulled over when she started noticing the temp gauge moving.
I'm sure my bro knows the details, but he probably won't log on to 'Mud for another couple of weeks...
Yeah, she called me when it happened...I could not believe it.
I think she left her car down in Mobile and was borrowing the 60 to haul something around Jackson. The Carrera isn't too good for that.
He charged something like $ 1,200 for that head gasket! I was pissed, since I could have done it myself for near nothing, but I am across the globe from there now. She was pretty much stranded in some tiny town and didn't have a choice.
