Thanks again Stan and Chris! The whole event was beyond our expectations and we look forward to seeing you all next year.
@benc Glad your trip went well. Quite a feat pulling off a trip like that with 3 small kids!! Thanks for your support. Love seeing the pics of the Dissent bumpers on so many trucks. It was great to meet you and we would love to have you out any time. We want to make it up to NorCal, so we may be contacting you, as well. Thx!

I left on Monday. It wasn't enough for me, so I packed it up again and left for the San Juans on Wed. Stayed till Sunday, covered many many more trails and found some really cool places off the main trails. Might go again soon for the yellow aspens. Already waiting looking forward to next year.

You guys were a blast. Thx!

I have 1 adult small shirt left. Thanks guys!! $25 shipped.

Looked like an awesome time! Sorry I was unable to make it and took up a spot to someone who could have made it, life happened a bit too heavily and close to the event and had to handle some more important things. Positive note is I have an entire year to upgrade the Crusher for next year! Thanks to the guys who organized it for being so accommodating and understanding of my situation!

Huge Thanks to all the organizers-all the participants-and the sponsors. I won the Ironman recovery kit (now I don't have shackle envy) and Gamiviti tool kit-thanks guys and thanks Tim for being our guide both days. Cousin Eddie and crew made it back to Texas this weekend after 11 days on the road. I love hearing my 4 year old talk about Colorado. This was such a great event for someone who had never taken their 100 offroad or done any trails in CO. It was a great family experience and it seemed like my city kids finally got into the swing of things the last few days in Ruidoso. I'm going to try and correct that in the future. Would have enjoyed a little less rain and more latenight campfire time.

Sorry if the RV took up too much space in the middle of the camp but that's where our leaders told me to park it. Looking forward to gathering all our photos-sorry for having the teenager stand up in the sunroof to snap pics-seems we did about everything wrong we could but it was still great.
Our stock 100 with only tires and removing the running boards really performed flawlessly on the roads even with only 284k miles. Nothing like breaking it in on Imogene for it's first experience. Glad we did Black Bear in case it ever gets closed which would be a shame. Really learned the reason to get a HAM radio and my license during the recovery process of the Razor. I did find a torn cv boot during a nut/bolt inspection. Thanks to NTSAINT for fixing me up with some extra grease and silicone-still no clicking.

Met some great people, learned a ton, and can't wait to get back again. When is next year and when is that Cruise Moab deal?

For my report it really began last year talking to the wife about going to HIH4. Finally made the commitment this year and did lots of prep to make sure the truck was ready though it would have been just fine if I hadn't done anything other than tires and remove the boards. We made it a full family vacation by renting the RV-left on Wed. and made it into camp late Thursday night whereby we were immediately greeted by our organizers and guided where to park. After the event we stayed in Ouray a few more days-met my parents in Telluride who were on a cross country trip so I took them up Last Dollar and Bridal Falls which they were amazed with both. Headed to Durango and a day at Purgatory resort-I think my stomach is still sore from doing flips on the bungee trampoline. Visited the wifes family in Ruidoso and finally made it home. It was a pretty good adventure-few mishaps but nothing major. Feel good that it's an experience the kids will never forget. Just a great opportunity to slow down and realize some important things that I have been missing in my life or really with my family. Not the full on Robin Williams like in RV but something similar.
So many great memories and stories I could share. Definitely a must type of do thing for a family. But you just never know what you are going to learn. After being with my wife for 15 years I found out my wife is a nervous eater coming down Black Bear. While I don't like admitting this one also coming down Black Bear its funny looking back at my 4 year old upset that he can't get wifi on his Ipad.

I really enjoyed seeing all the family's and several father/son duos. I really envied that as I would love to have that time with my Dad. I'll just have to make sure I do it with my boy instead.
And getting into my truck this week and seeing the temp at 109 really made me wish I was on top of Imogene.

Hey @kelly saad....we visited your hometown (to see the Grand Canyon) after our trip to HIH. Flagstaff seems like a really nice place.
Cool. Flagstaff is a pretty good place but it isnt Colorado.

I am the lucky winner of the front bumper from Dissent. What a generous donation to the raffle, so cool. I am greatful! I already had purchased a DIY front bumper and its still in the box which I am now selling for $400, and buyer pays shipping. Its for a 98. I will post it in classifieds if nobody wants it here.

HIH6 planning has already begun and 4 sponsors are already CONFIRMED! It's clear that we've made an impact on the 100 Series community and this little event is leaving its mark with attendees and sponsors. It doesn't happen without folks willing to drive for thousands of miles with kids in the back, dogs pooping on the seats and hard earned money spent.

HIH6 is going to be legendary. Chris and I just had a conversation about how our little event can impact everyone from the young kids that attend to the vendors that sell products as folks prepare to head for the Hills. That cycle of spending money with vendors and the local economy is what keeps the wheels turning. Don't forget to thank the sponsors and if you were lucky enough to win something, consider buying a few more things from that vendor and don't forget to thank them for being involved.

Chris and I do not take raffle tickets during the event but if the prizes stay as awesome as they have been...... we may have to reconsider! If everyone buys from (and thanks) our vendors, it will be easy to keep giving away great raffle items. In the end, it's not about free stuff though. It's still about new and old friends, great trails, amazing scenery and family.

Thanks for coming!

That's the thing. This is a limited event. Can you find a way to make this event more inclusive so that others can also participate? I live in CO and really wanted to see everyone's rigs. I didnt come out of respect for you guys, but a meet where everyone is welcome would be great for the 100 community

@Cruzin00 I'm not sure what you mean by more inclusive and everyone being welcome. We are as welcoming as can be. Were you on the waiting list this year? If it's a money thing, we only charged $75 for registration. That money goes to covering all the costs of organizing and putting on the event. (Plus shirts and stickers) Everything from permits to porta potty rentals costs money. We were actually out of our own pockets for HIH3. I'm not sure how we could be more welcoming.

There are a multitude of reasons why we cap the number for this event. The biggest one being that we are trying to stay as low-impact as possible. We deal with the Forest Service for our permits and we must adhere to their trail guidelines as it relates to the number of vehicles on each trail. I know almost everyone who has attended for the last 3 years by their first names. To me, that's the biggest reason to keep this event small. In comparison, FJ Summit had 400 vehicles in attendance this year. I know maybe 40-50 on a first name basis and I'm a trail leader and trail ambassador during the event.

We also need trail leaders. We can't have 75 vehicles and 3 people willing/capable of leading trails. Trail runs are kept at a maximum of 10 vehicles. We would need at least 7 trail leaders for each day. That itself is an issue. We have many first-timers at HIH and we want them to feel totally confident in their trail leaders and their vehicles. There are no egos, no stupid questions, no fear of asking for help. Many folks are here to learn how to use their 100's in one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Some will use 4lo for the first time in this vehicle, or even the first time in their lives.

With all of that said, HIH6 will be larger, more organized and open to more. I think it's important for you to attend an event before thinking that we're too exclusive.

Registration information was posted weeks before the event and many on the waiting list ended up being given a spot. When did you try and register? If applicable, when did you get on the waitlist?
