So It is time for me to finally break down and do my Birf rebuilds. If I remember right the club has a 54mm hub socket doesn't it? If so is it possible for me to get ahold of it for a few days?

Hmmm... You know, I think I have heard the rumor of this mysterious socket, but who knows where it went. I might try and call Andy Johnson and see if he knows, he had the air tank, might have the socket too.

54mm socket...

I was talking with Andy today, and mentioned your question about a 54mm socket. Neither of us remember the club having one, but thats not to say that one doesn't exist. I remember trying to come up with a method to track club assets, but we never had a good solution. Do you have any way to track or look at past meeting minutes? That might be a way to see if an allocation was made to buy a tool, like a 54mm socket.

I spoke with Andy as well, figured since he was the treasurer around that time he might have remembered buying something like that.
We think that socket might be an urban legend. I have no doubt the club members talked about buying one, but probably never could decide how they would keep track of it and it fell apart from there.

Got it apart! If you don't mind I'll be down there at lunchtime. Possible to meet up? Feel free to call me

Thanks!

P.S.... It is so nice not doing this sitting on the ground!

I was going to offer a socket as well but looks like you got it.

As for the lift ... where is the drooling emoticon...

I think to club socket is a club legend. I recall several years ago a discussion of buying some club tools with dues money but it never went anywhere, probably due to concerns described above.
