Wanted 5 Speed Bearing kit WANTED

Michael,
1) How do you pull the 1st bearing out? I think the FSM calls for it to pulled out without the shaft to prevent pressure on the gears behind it.

2) When pulling the input shaft and bearing, the FSM uses a special cage over the splines and a slap hammer. How are you using your press for this procedure?

I still use pull for the bearing that come off with the shaft still installed but for the others I have some holders I made so I can use my press.

input shafts can come out with a blunt brass chisel and gentle tapping from the inside.

of course, the counter shaft has to be dropped to do this.

I press the input bearing on and off (harbor frieght 20 ton, but the 12 will do it)

just remember to "double engage" he he, hehe..
