Anyone interested in trading your open 5.29 third (plus a little $$$ or parts) for this full detroit locked third

Preferably here in colorado as shipping would be crazy $$$

Are you looking for a open third with 5:29 gears? Might be a lot easier to just swap in an open carrier. I might be interested in your Detroit. I have an open carrier I could trade.

Was just thinking it would be easier to swap the whole thing so that I did not have to worry about shimming as they only guy in town who did it retired

All you have to reset is the backlash when you change out the carrier. Spanner nuts on either side of the carrier. Most mechanics can do it or a machine shop. Be sure to measure backlash before you take it apart and set it back to the same when you put the new carrier in. If in the rear of a 40, you do not have to remove the whole third, just take the back cover off and take if from there.
