Tony wire wheeled the frame. It was amazingly solid for an 85 with so much rust in the body.

Then some Rustoleum. I tried to talk him into smoke gray but he wouldn't listen.

The results are a 85 solid axle frame we'd all be jealous of!

Meanwhile, I fought with wiring harnesses. We swapped the whole deal out of the 85 into the 88 body. It's really the only choice when going from a 3.0 Auto to a 22RE Manual.

The whole dash has to get gutted to get it out and in. The 88 was factory. Never been into. Even the factory tape deck. I felt guilty taking it's virginity.

The truggy project donated a clutch pedal and got a nice wide brake pedal in return. Unfortunately, Toyota forgot a couple of holes in the firewall of the 88. I made a template with tape and crossed my fingers.

Great pictures, I did the grunt work while Tim did the fine work, as it should be. Tim has Matthew on board, when we went to buy the paint, he said "hey Dad, smoke gray".

How NOT to wire a fuel pump. Seriously PO? Surprised this truck was as reliable as it was.

Unfortunately, this minor issue kept Tony And Matthew from driving it today. Should have this resolved shortly. Lots of progress today.

Still got a few things to take care of though. Like hooking up the throttle so it will do more than idle around in low range.
