Muhuhaha. this was yesterday morning. Managed to get the lump out before the soccer game, then spent the afternoon swapping 24v bits back and forth between engines.
Gonna give the edic a shot with this engine. I have a 24v fcr and edic, so what hell. I'll plug em in and see if it works. If no, back to the cable.
Minor hiccup at this point however. Seems that while you can use an aluminum bellhousing on a 3b in a 40 frame, if you still have stock steering, not so much. Starter wants to occupy the same space as the steering box mount.
Which, blows massive amounts of ass, because the solution involves removing the flywheels from TWO ******* engines in order to swap that thin steel plate on the back of the block over.
Mr.T in his infinite wisdom, decided to change the bolt pattern on it ever so slightly.
At the time his reasoning for this probably wasn't obvious, or was just chalked up to engineers tinkering in order to justify continued employment, however it seems clear to me he was able to see the future and he did it just to fxxx me.
All evidence points that way.
So my morning will be spent pondering how to stop a pair of 3b's from turning over while getting the flywheel bolts out. I may have to build a plate to lock the flywheel from turning, them bolts is tight, and my impact gun is too wimpy..
Other solution would be to do the ps swap now, but I'd rather put that off...reaching saturation point with all this cruiser work lately.
. I'll still have to r/b my tcase once Kurt gets some kits in again, which will be a couple weeks apparently.
